Last summer I asked “To Twilight or Not to Twilight?” [Outcome: I half-Twilighted—didn’t read the books, saw the movies.]. Today I ask you, “To Tweet or Not to Tweet?”
So, I’ve had a lot of friends asking, urging, begging, pleading with me to join Twitter. “You’ve got to do it!!” [Okay, so I’ve had exactly four friends recommend it…]. I don’t know why I haven’t done it…I guess I don’t totally get it? Facebook status updates I get because they’re a piece of Facebook…but the status updates alone… Do you care? Do I have to be funny? Or just random? How often do y’all tweet? What do you tweet about??
[If for no other reason, I might do it for the privilege of following my girl crush, who I hear is hilarious. Like she always is…]
It’s the last technological frontier for me. So bring on the advice. Should I take the plunge?
[Unrelated tidbit—I was reading through old blogs and realized I STILL have NEVER had Baconnaise. What the flip? I NEED bacon flavored mayonnaise in my life.]

I Tweet or Twit or whatever. I have no idea what the purpose is. Another way for my friends to stalk me and for me to pretend like my life is so important people will "follow" me. Honestly, I do so I can pretend I friends with celebrities and no one is going on in their lives. Bethenny especially! Thanks for the bday wishes! I thought ours were pretty close!
Holy grammatical errors in that comment. Sorry.
I have a twitter. I rarely use it. I got it at the urges of my aunt who left a string of comments one day and never since. I never tweet anyone, though. I guess there's no one I like so much as to want to know the up-to-the-minute information about there lives. But maybe you have those people. Whatever happened to just texting? I don't have 40 people I know that I need to send a message to all at once. Hehe maybe I'm bias. Or something. Then again, I don't even have a Facebook. Blogging is my only online vice. Well, that ans shopping : ) Tweet or not to tweet - what a hard question.
I had people push the twitter kool-aid on me and I succumbed to the pressure circa summer 2009. Let me tell you what a let down it has been. I guess there's not much to tell, but it's been a let down. A 'fail whale', if you will. Look it up. It very well could be because I lead an uninteresting life. I give it two thumbs sideways which is equal to 'lame' in Neal's hierarchy of hand signs. I think it could possibly distract you from blogging so I can't, in good conscience, recommend it.
Further, may I suggest you skip the Baconnaise and rather pucker up to some bacon flavored lip balm instead? http://www.amazon.com/Bacon-Flavored-Balm-4-5-Gram-Tube/dp/B00247ASKY
This seems like a product you could surely find in an establishment like Cracker Barrel.
I think you know where I stand on this Dubs. I'm a truth speaker in your life and all the way from Canada, I'm willing to say the hard things. Take the plunge, you won't regret it. The way I see you, is you are bound to be on it one day, so you might as well join soon. See you on twitter..find me.
I'm completely with you here Kathryn. I don't get it. I am contently clueless on the twitter world. If you figure it all out, please share.
I have been on twitter to see what it's all about and it looks too confusing I don't know what "RT" means...I personally don't get it! I rather tell people what I do by blogging. :) I saw you graduated! Congratulations!
Don't do it!
You'll suffer endless harassment at all family functions should you start tweeting...and not just from me! (Sorry Christie.)
PS--Love your new header!
Becky, I'm willing to submit my comments in this judgment free zone. Its still worth it. Once I convince Kathryn, I'm onto you...so get ready!
Its totally worth it. And Kathryn..you're going to love being able to read what others are doing on a quicker basis and being able to update quickly...
RT means 'retweet' used when you want to say something that someone you follow said earlier. Or you can tweet at "@" someone which will appear on their home page and its like writing on their wall but better. Just trust me on this one. Twitter 101.
I also succumbed to the twitter world awhile back. It lasted about a month. I've yet to figure out the point of it. Facebook suits me just fine...Twitter I found to just be a true waste of time!
As for the bacconnaise...my parents and I TOTALLY got some a couple months ago. Let me just say....eew. We tried it plain on some mountain grown fresh tomatoes. Completely ruined them! It doesn't taste like what you expect, unfortunately! It was SLIGHTLY better when on a tomato SANDWICH, but not much. Feel free to try it...but I wouldn't recommend it!
I second Christie. I've been telling you to do this since the beginning. There is no good reason why. Same with facebook...it's all ridiculous. BUT, you don't have to worry too much about it. You can just use tweetdeck to update your facebook and twitter status at the same time. type in your status, upload it to both and you're done. no extra work and you don't have to decide anymore. see you there: lindseymitch
Our journey has begun!… secretly though
If I’ve left you this message, you’re a follower of my original blog ~OR~ just someone I’ve happened upon while sending out these invites and that I would LOVE for to come along for the ride! Though I won’t be revealing who I am just yet – until we’re TO and THROUGH the first trimester! Just getting the word out about our new site – further explanation of all the secrecy and what we’re about on my first post. I’d love for you to stop by.
Exciting things going on around here!
